As the saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words so at OntarioCities we have designed our system
to allow you to upload images to your website/catalogue. Most people these days use digital cameras to take their pictures and we have kept
that in mind. All uploaded pictures are displayed at a ratio based on 640 by 480 or 480 by 640 (except Logos and Site Pictures which are auto scaled depending
on the template chosen for your site). So what does this mean for you? This means in most
cases your digital camera pictures can be uploaded to the system and displayed at various sizes with out being distorted or pushing
things out of place on your website. You may also use this tool to upload PDF documents for use on your site.
Clicking the Image Manager link (fig 1.0 ()) will bring you to your Image Tools section as seen in fig 3.0. allows
you click to either View or Delete from a drop down list. allows you to Delete images selected in or Upload new images. is the navigation area. Images are listed in groups of 12 to a page and by clicking on the page number the images on that page maybe viewed.
allows you to filter the images shown. Images that contain part of the filter word in their filenames are displayed.
allows you to either list your images by thumbnail or filename only. allows
you to select all images displayed on the current page. Images are listed by name with radio buttons in front of them. The images can be viewed by clicking on the image name and will be displayed in a new window.
Uploading an image is a very simple process. Click on the Upload button (fig 3.0 ()) and a new window will popup as
shown in fig 3.1. File names should not contain the following characters '?"/\<>*|:~^,%& as they will cause problems with the system. To upload click
the Browse button and select the location of the image on your computer, CD, etc. Then click the Upload File button to upload the
file. You may upload up to four files at a time so if you have a large number of files it is recommended that you contact your sales representative so we can
directly transfer the files to your folder on OntarioCities (a service fee may apply for this). If you find not all your files upload try doing them one at a time as multiple large files may timeout the uploader.
In order to delete an image either click the check box located in front of the name (fig 3.0 ()) and then click the 'Delete'
button (fig 3.0 ()) or select the file from the drop down in (fig 3.0 ()) and click delete. A confirmation alert will ask if your sure you wish to delete this image. If so click 'OK' and the image will be deleted.
